One of the things you must take into account on most of the locks on the Llangollen is the side flow that can easily push your boat out of line when entering a lock
People have different ways of coping with this. I always steer into the flow which in turn should push the boat in the right direction. I don't always get it right. "SOLUTION" Let the wife drive for perfection.
Be prepared to take more bumps than you get on other canals
